PineRidge Logging Inc., is a stump-to-dump forestry contractor in Alberta’s Whitecourt region. PineRidge Logging’s roots began in Northern Alberta in 2001, where the original owners, Jake Froese and Pete Peters of La Crete, began as a portable bush chipping contractor for the Peace River Pulp Mill.
As the operations grew, they started up a construction/road building company and began to expand their operations to include other companies and partnerships, notably Peace Country Ventures and PineRidge Transport in Peace River. They also created beneficial partnerships with other logging companies in the High Level and Manning regions. In order to remain competitive and efficient, the companies were separated into individual corporations and thus PineRidge Logging Inc. was established in 2012.
PineRidge Logging Inc., currently conducts year-round operations for three major forest companies in the Whitecourt and High Prairie regions. During peak operating season, PineRidge employs 130 workers and 26 log haul contract companies.
PineRidge Logging Inc., values the health and safety of its work force has an established Certificate of Recognition (COR) in the Alberta Partnerships Program. PineRidge Logging was awarded the Alberta Forest Products Association’s Health and Safety Excellence Award (for over 40,000 man-hours worked) in both 2016 & 2017 and continues to strive for a healthy and injury-free workplace for all its employees and contractors.
